Report of “2024-12-15”



1) Reported Rash cases

In the past 52 weeks, 213 rash cases were reported. Following investigation, 123 were discarded, 86 were classified as measles, and 4 as rubella.
During the year 2024, and since January, 199 rash cases were reported. Following investigation, 115 were discarded, 80 were classified as measles, and 4 as rubella.

2) Measles cases for past 52 weeks

In the past 52 weeks, among the 86 classified Measles cases, 11 were lab-confirmed, 0 epi-linked, and 75 compatible clinical cases.
The percentage of confirmed cases (laboratory or epi-linked) was 12.79%. The rate of measles cases was 13.78 per million.
The highest rates per million were observed in Baalbeck Hermel with 20.66 and in Bekaa with 22.89.
The most affected age groups are: the under 5 years representing 41.86 % of the cases, with age-specific rate of 66.61 per million, and with 38.46 % unvaccinated, followed by the 5-9 years old representing 13.95 % of the cases, with age-specific rate of 19.54 per million, and with 50.00 % unvaccinated.
Among the cases, 44.2% were male, 59.3% were Lebanese, and 17.4% were admitted to hospitals.


During the year 2024, and since January, among the 80 classified Measles cases, 9 were lab-confirmed, 0 epi-linked, and 71 compatible clinical cases.
